Jail Ministries
Our jail ministry entails meeting inmates on their initiative in a large empty room in the jail where we study the Bible together and do general counseling. We spend about 50 minutes each with three different groups of about 10-15. Our church is scheduled to go three times a month.
We help some inmates upon their release to get needed food and clothing assistance, as well as transportation to job interviews, probation meetings, etc.
During the Christmas holidays our church gives toiletry gifts and candy to all the inmates (usually 100-125). At this time of year we also deliver food baskets or gift cards to the families of inmates who live in Patrick County or close by.
